Reissue a parent's portal PIN

import { Steps, Aside } from ‘@astrojs/starlight/components’;

For office staff, bursars, Directors, and teachers. Parents sign in with the ID and PIN from their access slip. There is no SMS or email reset, so a parent who forgets the PIN contacts the school office — you reissue it from the dashboard. (Glossary: PIN, access slip)

  1. Open the student record — via Students (search the child) or Parents (search the parent).
  2. Find the Portal section showing the parent’s access details.
  3. Choose Reissue (or Reset) PIN. The new PIN appears on the next access slip — or read it to the parent over the phone.
  • On the portal sign-in page, Forgot your PIN? confirms whether a portal account exists for that admission number or phone number. Use it to check the identifier is correct before reissuing.
  • The portal sign-in page also directs parents to contact the school office.

Can parents reset the PIN themselves? No. Only staff can reissue it, so the office stays in control of access.

The identifier itself is wrong (changed phone number)? Update the parent’s phone number on the student record first, then reissue.
