Set your fee structure

For Directors and bursars. Fee items are the building blocks of billing — tuition, uniform, lunch, transport. Manage them in Finance → Fee structure.

1. Add a fee item with a name (for example “Tuition — Term 1”), an amount, and who it applies to.
2. Items are billed against the current term.
3. When a parent pays, record the payment against a fee item — that is what makes Balances and portal statements add up.

Set the fee structure before recording payments. Items can be edited or retired later, but changing an amount only affects future billing — recorded payments are never rewritten.
